I think that spending $20000 and install 4 Kw solar electrical system for your house BEFORE solar water heater is stupid. The guy from Oregon Dept. of Energy was right that tax incentives just not make people to produce more green energy. It make them pay more money and big business like it. He admit that Republicans, not Democrats pushing this tax incentives. PV is a big business scam.
And the price of Solar Water heaters!!!! $7500 Crazy. Whole system is $1200 and one day to install it. Instead of robbing taxpayers of $3000 tax rebates. $7500-$3000=$3500 vs. $1200 DIY.

This is just plain stupid....
I'm not native English speaker and I don't have anybody to check my grammar anymore so sorry for bad English in advance....
How many times someone tell you the story about some rules or regulations what's in everybody opinion are just plain stupid and minutes later we all forget about it until it strikes again?
My friend get ticket in Corvallis because his tracks rare tire cross yellow line. In Corvallis you can get ticket if you park your car downtown and it have "For sale" sign. What if you are out of town? In Ashland you can't park van in the main street. Coburg (small town near Eugine) so famous for the "speed trap" on I-5 that Oregon legislature change the law to stop it. It doesn't help - Coburg found the way around it. The list can go on and on.
The point is - if with the help of the blogs and comments we can identify the most ridiculous rules and start the process of removing it. It could be only local issues or view from Corvallis to the rest of Oregon.
So the issue for the day.
Corvallis is "bicycle friendly" city. Most of the streets have very nice bike lanes and even bike paths along Philomath Blvd and HW99. Now AFTER we (as a taxpayers) spend millions of dollars for all this extra concrete and asphalt may be it's time to spend a little more to encourage people actually use it? I'm biking to work and so my wife but in my estimate we are talking 2-3 riders an hour at peak. This is nothing!
There is several ways to fix it. In Japan any slow moving motorcycle or scooter can use bike lane. It's illegal in Oregon. Also I know that some companies in Corvallis pay to the employees who bike to work. May be it's time for HP and OSU to follow? Any other ideas?
